South Africa – October 16 – Sheikh Hamdan’s Shadwell enterprise has enjoyed much success in South Africa with Australian bred horses and produced an impressive winner at Greyville on Wednesday in Estidraaj, a Hard Spun (USA) filly they bred themselves.

Trained by Mike de Kock, Estidraaj was second on debut and then exploded at her second run bolting away to win over 1600 metres by nine and a half lengths on the polytrack.

Foaled and raised at Yarraman Park, Estidraaj is the second winner for Nufoos, a winning Elusive Quality (USA) daughter of South African Group I winner Mythical Play.

Shadwell parted company with Nufoos in 2012 and Estidraaj is the last horse they bred from the mare.
