December 14 – Breaking his maiden at Hawkesbury on Sunday was the first foal of former star mare Mimi Lebrock, the Bjorn Baker trained three year-old gelding Mr Lebrock. A $360,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the draft of Yarraman Park for Segenhoe Thoroughbreds, Mr Lebrock excelled at his first try at 1600 metres, forging clear to win by a length and a half as favourite. By champion sire More Than Ready (USA), Mr Lebrock has shown good improvement this preparation since being gelded and can be winning more races. Mimi Lebrock was on-sold at the 2012 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale where she was bought by Baramul Stud for $1,025,000. Another Yarraman Park bred winner to taste success at the weekend was Magic Albert filly Be the Magic, sho scored at Sunshine Coast for Danny Bougoure at her second start. A $150,000 Magic Millions purchase for her trainer from the Yarraman Park draft, Be the Magic is the second winner for smart Catbird metro winner Catseye Beach, a half-sister to the dams of Group winners Impaler and Fair Trade. Casteye Beach has also been on-sold, bought for $21,000 at the Inglis Broodmare Sale earlier this year by Steve Gillard, who races Be the Magic. She produced a filly by Magic Albert for her new owners this spring.
