Pint sized Magic Albert sprinter Alberto Magic took another step up the ladder when scoring a bold win at Randwick on Saturday taking on open company for the first time.

Sent out a hot favourite, the Alan Denham trained four year-old skipped across the heavy ground two win the 1100 metre dash by two and three-quarter lengths.

Retained to race by his breeder, Alberto Magic has the impressive record of six wins from 10 starts with prizemoney topping $170,000.

He is the second foal and first winner for Red Feather, a winning daughter of former flying filly Mother Duck, who won nine races highlighted by the Group III AJC Gimcrack Stakes.

The Mother Duck family has enjoyed plenty of success in recent years to produce stakes-winners such as Ladys Angel, Anatina, Pricked, Miss Bux and Atomic, with Alberto Magic looming as another horse of serious potential.

A proven Group I producing sire, Magic Albert is great value this season at a fee of just $11,000.
