Scoring her first Black Type victory in the Group II Gerald Rosenberg Stakes at Turffontein in South Africa on Saturday was promising three year-old filly Tamaanee, a $40,000 Inglis Classic Summer Book Sale purchase from the Yarraman Park draft.

A three year-old filly by Teofilo (IRE), the Sean Tarry trained Tamaanee showed her class when beating older rivals to win over 2000 metres by three lengths and has won three of nine starts.

She runs for Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa’s Al Adiyaat South Africa (Pty) Ltd and carries his yellow and blue colours.

Foaled and raised at Yarraman Park for Pedrille Thoroughbreds, Tamaanee is the first winner for Cangino, a winning half-sister to Champion Australian First Season Sire, I Am Invincible.

Cangino has a yearling filly and weanling filly to follow by Dream Ahead (USA) and was covered last spring by Denman.
