Trial Win for Hinchinbrook

Sydney, July 20 - Fastnet Rock colt Hinchinbrook is seen as one of the most desirable sire prospects in Australia, the half-brother to Snitzel taking his first step towards a successful spring campaign with a soft barrier trial win at Rosehill on Tuesday morning.

Foaled and raised at Yarraman Park for his breeder Francois Naude, the Gerald Ryan trained Hinchinbrook has not been seen since finishing a close third to Yosei and Skilled in the Group One AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes on April 10.

Hinchinbrook enjoyed his easy 900 metre trial, coasting home to win by a length and a half for Blake Shinn.

“He’s pulled up good and he did what I wanted him to do without being asked too much,” Ryan told Dallas Baker of Racenet.

“He’ll have another trial then run in either the Run To The Rose on August 14 or the Starlight Stakes on the same day.”

Already a stakes-winner, having won the Group Three AJC Skyline Stakes last preparation before finishing a close fourth in the Golden Slipper, Hinchinbrook will be out to emulate the success of his older half-brother Snitzel, who was able to improve from being a slick juvenile to a Group One winner at three and is now a successful young sire.
