Gold Coast, March 18 – A cracking colt by Magic Albert is heading to a leading Melbourne stable after topping the 2014 Gold Coast March Yearling Sale on Tuesday.

Offered by Kenmore Lodge, the star colt was knocked down for $105,000 to the Victorian based partnership of Dream Thoroughbreds and Bluegrass Bloodstock.

David Azzopardi of Dream Thoroughbreds was delighted to be able to buy the colt and announced Anthony Freedman as the trainer for the likely type.

“When we first saw him we thought was very athletic and a really good moving colt,” Azzopardi said.

“We weren’t going home without him.

“We were impressed he had a half-sister to Japhils, who was a recent Moonee Valley 2YO winner at her only start.

“Specifically we were looking for a colt that would ultimately be a classic three-year-old, a guineas type.

“He will head to Anthony Freedman, who’s been a long time supporter of ours. Anthony is excited about getting the colt and he will be given every chance to compete in the good races, particularly those in the Magic Millions series.”

The colt is the fifth foal of Polish Precedent mare Livonia (GB), a sister to Irish stakes-winner Millstreet.
